As the UK’s Change 4 Life campaign is running in earnest, lots more people are becoming aware of the need to be more vigilant about health. The campaign asks people to make small changes that will make a big difference to their lives and that of their families.
With young people moving around less than ever in previous years it is a growing concern. Indications reveal that 9 out of 10 young people today could grow up with dangerous amounts of fat in their bodies. This can cause life-threatening diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Keeping young people moving is important to Let Me Play and our school programmes are designed to do just this. Not only does PE keep their bodies healthy but playing sports and engaging in physical activity have been linked to better concentration and focus in the classroom.
Our programmes start from reception age! By starting early, whether playing out on the pitch at home or in school, sports participation increases the likelihood that young people will continue leading healthy lifestyles in the future.
Let Me Play offer breakfast, lunchtime, afterschool and PPA cover – all aimed at keeping young people active and providing positive fun activities.
All programmes aim to raise participation in sport and to use sport and physical activity as a motivational tool for young people. Let Me Play coaches and instructors can cover as much or as little PPA time as required by a school.
