Frequently Asked Questions for the Camps:
1. What should I bring to the camp?
Each camp will vary and 2 weeks prior to camp you will receive a welcome booklet outlining all that you will need. Please be advised that we do not recommend bringing valuables to the camp and any such items are brought to camp at your own risk.
2. What time should I arrive at camp?
Registration times vary across each camp, there will be a 2 hour allocated arrival time announced one month prior to camp. This is generally in the afternoon.
3. Can I arrive a day earlier or stay a day late?
In most cases this is possible. Please contact us to check and if it is possible we can book a room for you for a nominal additional charge.
4. Will you be arranging collections from airports and train stations?
Yes, we will arrange collections from one local train station (cost of £10 return) and from one airport (£50 return). It is imperative that you check your flight options before you book to ensure that you arrive into an airport that we can collect from and at our designated times.
5. What are the times of the collections?
Please contact us and we will let you know. We recommend that you book flights to arrive and depart in the following time slots if possible:
Football Trials Camp: 13-18 April & 10-15 August 2008, Ascot:
Arrivals into London Heathrow between 11am and 12 noon, departures from London Heathrow at 8pm or soon after.
Dan Shittu Football Camp: 17-22 August 2008, Ascot:
Arrivals to London Heathrow between 11am and 12 noon, departures from London Heathrow at 5pm or soon after.
Summer Hoops Camp: 3-8 August 2008, Aylesbury:
Arrivals to London Luton or London Heathrow between 11am and 12 noon, departures from London Luton or London Heathrow at 6pm or soon after.
Street Dance Camp: 27 July to 1 August 2008, Birmingham:
Arrivals to Birmingham International between 11am and 12 noon, departures from Birmingham International at 5pm or soon after.
If you would like to arrive to a different airport, please contact us prior to booking your flight.
6. How will I know that my son or daughter has arrived at camp?
Please ask your child to call you on arrival at camp, if your child does not have a mobile phone we will be able to make a call to let you know that they are there safely.
7. What time does the camp finish?
Each camp will end at a slightly different time, the times will be announced closer to the start of camp and will be sent to you in your Welcome Booklet.
8. If my son/daughter is a non-residential camper, what time do they have to arrive on camp and what time do they have to leave?
They need to be ready for the session to start at 9:00am or 9:30am (depending on the camp) – please have breakfast prior to arrival. We will let you know the end time of camp in your Welcome Booklet, normally it will be in the evening after dinner.
9. If my son/daughter is a non-residential camper, what meals do they get?
Day Campers get lunch and dinner only.
10. Will there be a bank at the camp to safeguard my son/daughter's money and passport?
When you arrive on camp you will be asked if you want to deposit any money into the camp bank. The money you put in cannot be lost or stolen. If you do not do that, any money you lose or that has been stolen from you cannot be replaced. At the end of the camp any unspent money will be returned to you in full.
11. When is my payment due?
A deposit is required as soon as possible to secure a place, full payment must be made 4 weeks prior to the camp.
12. Is the payment refundable?
Cancellation within 4 weeks of the start of the camp is non-refundable. Before this time, up to 50% is refundable.
13. Will there be food available in the evenings after dinner?
There will be snacks available from a tuck shop and it will also be possible to order snacks at night. However, this will be at your son/daughter's own cost. We will provide 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
14. Who will coach on the camp?
We have a dedicated team of professional and qualified coaches all of whom have extensive experience.
15. Are the coaches qualified and CRB checked?
Yes! All of our coaches and staff are qualified and CRB checked.
16. Can my child choose his/her room mates?
We will honour room mate requests if space allows but it cannot be guaranteed. Please make your request by noting it on the application form or by emailing us. Please note that boys and girls will not share rooms. We also separate participants by age groups.
17. Will there be supervision in the accommodation units?
There will always be coaches assigned to be on call over night.
18. Can I come and watch my child?
We are open for both coaches and parents to view at all times. However, please notify us in advance so that we know who you are and why you are on campus. You will have to sign in. Please note that there is no photography or filming allowed.
19. Does the camp do evaluations?
Yes, you will receive a personal evaluation at the end of camp.
20. What is the food like?
The menu will offer a variety of nutritional meals. It is important to us that the menu has a healthy balance at all times. If your child has any special dietary needs or would like a vegetarian option, please notify us by email or in writing.
21. Am I allowed to bring my own iPod or MP3 player?
Yes, you are allowed to bring these items, but it is strongly recommended that you do not. Please note that we will not be held responsible if your valuable items are lost or stolen. Such items are brought to camp at your own risk!
22. Will there be people qualified in first aid?
Yes, we have trained first-aiders and physiotherapists available at each camp.
23. Will there be awards for the best campers?
Yes, awards will be presented at the closing ceremony on the last day of camp.
24. Is it possible to bring my whole team to the camp?
Why not? The preparations of your team in cooperation with Let Me Play could be particularly useful. Besides the excellent facilities, you will also experience all the enjoyment of being part of a superb sports camp. We work, think and live sport. The preparations also include the use of various other facilities.
