Healthy Living Workshops-
At Let Me Play our aim is to provide a series of informational workshops designed to educate youth and parents alike about healthy living and eating habits. In practicing healthy eating habits and a general healthy lifestyle, individuals are able to efficiently fuel their bodies and stay prepared for intense physical activity.
Andy Leftley, qualified nutritionist states; “The programme we have put together will be a lot of fun but at the same time we will educate both participants and their parents into adopting better eating habits and incorporating more physical exercise into their daily lives. We have a team of experts and highly energised staff members that will really motivate these young people to decide for themselves that they want to change their ways for the better”.
Each programme is bespoke but may involve the following:
A Healthy Living Assembly to educate the whole school about Healthy Lifestyles and the benefits of activity. With agreement of the school we will launch a Healthy Lifestyle notice board and a School Challenge. The Challenge will include young people committing to more exercise, giving up treats or making sure they have their 5-a-day.
A whole day of Healthy Living Workshops where professionals go from class to class running workshops for students.
8 week course of afterschool ‘Ready, Steady, Masterchef’ classes which are delivered to students and parents. At the beginning of each session is a physical warm-up for 20 minutes, this will be fun practical activities that get parents and students engaging, laughing and active before the Cookery class.
End of Term Food Festival. Parents that have taken part in the programme will help to organise a Healthy YOU food festival for young people and their families whereby there will be healthy food to taste, healthy smoothies, information stands, sports activities all going on for the whole school to sample.
